Beatrice Kiddo needed to get even, she needed an Hatori Hanzo sword to get the job done right. Getting to Bill was not going to be an easy task, and all those that were involved with her attempted murder will also need to pay. Tarantino took the typical Samurai movie to the extreme, I can only think of maybe three other movies that are more violent, but they are not as interesting as the Kill Bill movies.

So anyway Beatrice goes to Japan to ask if Hatori Hanzo can make another instrument of death, one that would finally “Kill Bill”. He is reluctant to do so, he made an oath with God that he would never make another. “But you see you owe me. The vermin I need to dispatch is…” Hatori already knows, he writes the name on the glass in english, Bill.

Hatori Hanzo is a smith. He can forge steel and make katanas, or knives as well he runs a sushi shop, its always good to have a sharp dependable knife around. To make steel ( just ask the Steelers ), it is a combination of iron for strength and carbon for durability. He would take the melted materials, pour it on the slack tub and bang the impurities out of it, until perfection, the way of bushido.

In Greek mythology the God of fire is Hephaestus. He was born from Hera and Zeus, and there’s a couple versions of how he became deformed, one is that he was born that way he was defective at birth and his mom cast him out of Olympus, the other was due to Zeus throwing him out and that caused one of his legs to be longer than the other. Man its bad when both your parents throw you out.

Hephaestus was very crafty, he would make all the swords and metal objects for the gods in Olympus. To get back at his mom for casting him out, he made the golden throne. He offered it to her as a peace offering, once she sat on it she was imprisoned and could not get out. To save her, Zeus offered Hephaestus the goddess Aphrodite as his wife. Deal. However Aphrodite didn’t love ( how can the goddess of love not love seems wrong ) Hephaestus, she was more into Ares, the war god. Every time she was unfaithful to Hephaestus he would in rage smash materials and would cause a volcano to erupt.

The crafty and creative and very sensitive people, “what DO you mean you don’t like it?” I always thought Dionysus was the god of creativity, but he’s the god of wine, pleasure, and festivity. Seems kind of appropriate, those things lead to creation in the right amount.

Obviously my interests include philosophy. I think thinking and thought are the beginning of every great thing. It’s how we understand and perceive the world. Periodically I’ll change things up and blog about something math or computer science related or even a blog about mythology. I am not political, trendy, or savvy, but I do like a good story. That is why I try and find a movie clip that hints or encompasses what I want to blog about. Sometimes the relevance is there, sometimes it’s a reach and I just really love the movie that I put in the post. The intent and purpose of my blog is to make you think, make me think and together our thoughts can be shared in a collection of material.
